Your destination is the town of Mequinenza on the river Ebro system in the heart of the Spanish wilderness only two hours drive from Barcelona Airport.

The river Ebro runs through a rugged mountainous region and has a number of hydro-electric dams along it producing large reservoirs full of huge cat fish, carp, zander and bass.  the wildlife in this area is amazing as is the fishing, with plenty of catfish being caught almost every day.  as for the other wildlife in the area, the river Ebro is like an oasis drawing in hundreds of varieties of beautiful birds to the area such as the hoopoe, bee-eaters, golden orioles, shrikes, egrest and storks.  there is also an array of birds of prey in the area such as the griffon vulture, many varieties of eagles including the golden eagle, and the beautiful song of the nightingale can be heard all night long.

Colin Bunn, Colin has been fishing for cat fish on the river Ebro system for more than 10 years with unrivalled success.  His own personal catches have accounted more than 100 catfish over 100lb, with a personal best fish of 182lb which was almost 8 foot long.  His knowledge of the river and surroundings areas are extensive, having fished during almost every month of the year and in all sorts of adverse weather conditions from extreme heat to almost freezing and also during floods, he can offer excellent guiding so you can catch the fish of your dreams. CAT MASTER TOUR

The tour begins with transportation from Barcelona airport by one of our guides in a luxury 8 seater, air conditioned vehicle and taken to your destination- Mequinenza.  Once there you can unpack and freshen up before you start the fishing trip of your life time.

Your accommodation is a modern apartment block only recently built in Mequinenza with sleeping and cooking facilities and refrigeration.  

All cat fish tackle will be supplied for catching these huge cat fish for your entire stay with us. you will also have an experienced guide with you and a boat for your entire stay with us.  Bait can be caught from the river during the day or eels may be purchased from Cat Master Tours.  Clonking trips will also be Available.

All Licenses and local Fishing insurances are provided.

THE FISHING

The fishing is amazing with catfish being caught on almost every bait presented to them.  With this level of action it is not long before even the most un experienced anglers are catching some tremendous catfish.  It's not uncommon for anglers to catch 10-20 catfish in one week, with the average size of the catfish you can expect to catch would be in the 70lb to 90lb range, with many many fish over 100lb caught by us every year-soon maybe over 200lb. these cat fish are very very strong and will give you a fight you will never forget and will leave you craving more.

Other fish present in the river are Zander well into double figures with fish over 24lb being caught and black bass over 10lb.  Carp are the main food fish for the catfish and are abundant in the 3-6lb range.  These can be caught during the day n corn and boilies and the smaller ones used as bait later for the cat's.  Carp of over 30lb have been caught by us without really trying and many 20lb+carp are caught each week.  We have heard of fish up to 66ln, but nobody fishes for carp seriously so give it a try, the rewards are there.

If you are really lucky, there are albino and half albino catfish in the Ebro.  These beautiful fish are very rare and have been caught by us to over 127lb and really would be a fish of a life time.
